The use of Ryan White Part A funds is guided by planning, which takes place through a Planning Council established by the Chief Elected Officer (CEO) Mayor Teresa Jacobs. The HIV Health Services Planning Council is a legislative body operating under the authority of the Ryan White Treatment Extension Act of 2009 and has the legislative authority to carry out its assigned tasks and duties as specified by the Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA). The Planning Council's sole responsibilities are to set priorities, allocate funds to specific service categories, and the Assessment of the Administrative Mechanism (AAM). The Planning Council and the Grantee share some responsibilities, including but not limited to: A. Develop a comprehensive plan to provide services. The decisions of the Planning Council must be based on data and evaluation of the needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS. The Orlando Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA) consist of a four (4) County area which includes Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. |
